Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

TL;DR: ClingyMac doesn't collect your data. It doesn't phone home. It doesn't track you. Your laptop's emotional outbursts stay between you and your laptop.

What data ClingyMac stores

ClingyMac stores the following data locally on your Mac only, in the app's UserDefaults:

None of this data leaves your Mac except as described below.

What data leaves your Mac

ClingyMac makes exactly one type of network request:

That's it. No analytics. No telemetry. No crash reporting. No tracking pixels. No third-party SDKs collecting data in the background.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com). When you click "Make it official," you're redirected to Dodo's checkout page. Dodo handles your payment information directly — ClingyMac never sees your credit card number, billing address, or payment details.

Dodo Payments' privacy policy applies to the checkout process: dodopayments.com/legal/privacy-policy

Data sharing

We don't share, sell, or transfer your data to anyone. There is no data to share.

Data retention

All data is stored locally in your Mac's UserDefaults. If you delete ClingyMac, the data is removed with it. You can also reset all data at any time by running this command in Terminal:

defaults delete com.ankushdixit.ClingyMac

Children's privacy

ClingyMac is not directed at children under 13. It's a novelty app about a laptop with separation anxiety. If your child is using it, they probably have good taste in humor.

Changes to this policy

If we ever update this policy, we'll post the updated version at clingymac.com/privacy with the new date. For a $3.99 app that stores timestamps locally, significant privacy changes are unlikely.
